No. MindIsland is a self-care and reflection app. It does not provide therapy, medical advice or crisis support, and it doesn't replace a professional.

Google Gemini, an AI service, through MindIsland's server — and only after you allow it. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent.

Open the companion, tap Manage AI replies under the note at the top, and choose Turn off. The next message you send will ask again.

Your check-ins, sessions, reflections and pet are stored on your phone only, and the conversation is kept only while the app is open. They aren't included in iCloud or Google backups, so a new phone set up from a backup starts fresh. Deleting the app removes them. Our server stores none of it. Google, which writes the companion's replies, keeps companion messages for 55 days to check for abuse. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Holding the microphone uses your phone's own speech recognition. On iPhone, the app asks for it to run on the device; on Android, depending on your phone, the speech service may send audio to its provider. MindIsland never receives the audio.

Daily check-ins, completed sessions and the Berry Catch game earn coins. Spend them in the Island Shop on food, medicine and things for your pet to wear.

When your pet is sick, a Give medicine button appears in its room. Medicine is in the Island Shop.
